RENAULT APPOINTS IAN PLUMMER AS DIRECTOR,

COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS

Renault UK’s Commercial Operations department has a new Director with Ian Plummer replacing Len Curran at the helm.

Ian Plummer, 42, will take over sole responsibility for Renault’s UK sales network and franchising operations. He will also sit on the Board of Directors at Renault UK headed by Managing Director, Thierry Sybord.

Ian replaces Len Curran who has been promoted to Vice President, Sales and Marketing for India.  India is one of Renault's strategic markets representing a significant opportunity for growth. Renault's commitment to this market is reflected in the appointment of Len Curran to develop the sales and marketing function in this country. Commenting Len said, “The last four years in the UK have been very rewarding as we successfully steered the brand and the network through a very challenging period in the history of our industry.  Ian Plummer is the ideal replacement to manage the next phase of Renault's development in the UK and I wish him every success."

For the past four years, Ian was Managing Director of Renault Retail Group (RRG).  In this time he has successfully reorganised the Group, leading it into profit and achieving consistently high customer satisfaction scores.  Within RRG, Ian has also held the positions of General Manager, Regional General Manager and Divisional Director prior to his appointment in 2006 as Managing Director.   Ian has also worked at Renault SA in Paris with international roles covering marketing, after-sales and e-commerce.

Commenting on his new role, Ian said, “I am delighted to be joining Renault UK.  My experience as a retailer with RRG has proved invaluable and I now look forward to working with the whole Renault network, particularly at such an exciting time with the youngest product range in the market and as we approach the launch of the Z.E. electric vehicle range.

Thierry Sybord, Managing Director, Renault UK, commented; “It is a great pleasure to welcome Ian to Renault UK.  His experience will prove important in further strengthening our continued commitment to continually providing the highest standards of customer service and network profitability. I would like to thank Len for his invaluable contribution to our performance during his four year reign in the role. ”

Ian continues as Managing Director for RRG until 1st September when his successor will be announced.
