Motability offers a finance scheme to help disabled people obtain a vehicle.
The vast majority of Motability customers choose to obtain and pay for a brand new car through the Motability Contract Hire Scheme.
There will be a change to the Motability Scheme from April 1st 2011.
In recent years demand for Hire Purchase has declined significantly and with only 578 New Hire Purchase Agreements created in 2010, representing 0.26% of new vehicles.
Motability Operations have therefore decided to focus on the Contract Hire Scheme as this guarantees to customers that they will enjoy the full benefits of our worry-free package, with insurance, maintenance and breakdown cover all included.
Please note that all applications submitted before April 1st, as well as existing live Hire Purchase agreements, will continue to run as normal until the end of contract.
In a few cases, Hire Purchase may be the only option for certain customers. If this is the case, Motability Operations will handle these on an individual basis, and customers continuing to enquire about Hire Purchase should contact the Motability Customer Services Team directly on 0845 456 4566.
