The Renault UK Apprenticeship Initiative has been designed with the intention of cultivating skilled technicians and customer service personnel essential for bolstering the prospective expansion of the Renault Dealer Network. The training and enrichment offered are unparalleled, featuring cutting-edge facilities and equipment, supported by our immensely knowledgeable training team.

 

You will receive comprehensive training that equips you to emerge as a certified Renault Specialist Technician, coupled with practical, hands-on involvement right from the start, encompassing the wide variety of vehicles in the Renault Group including Renault, Dacia and Alpine.

 

We’re looking for bright, ambitious and motivated school leavers who can demonstrate the potential to be future Renault Master Technicians. With advanced tuition and state-of-the art facilities, Apprentices will be developed to meet the demanding servicing and repair requirements of existing and future Renault vehicles, whilst enjoying the benefits of full-time paid employment at a Renault Dealership.

 

 

Technical Apprenticeships

The Renault UK Technical Apprenticeship Programme guarantees a comprehensive development of skills for Apprentices in vehicle
maintenance and diagnostics specifically tailored to the Renault brand. Upon successful completion of the program, Apprentices will attain the status of Renault Specialist Technician.

 

You will be awarded either the Autocare Technician Level II Apprenticeship Certificate or the Level III Standards Apprenticeship Certificate in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance (Light Vehicle).

 

These certifications are officially recognized by Renault and endorsed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

AUTOCARE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD LEVEL II

Year 1

Each year or “Phase” of the apprenticeship programme is comprised of training modules that include Residential Block Release at the Renault Training Centre, supported by a series of interactive training webinars and resources for each module of training. Year 1 is made up of 6 of these training modules. Topics covered in year 1 include:

 

  • Apprenticeship Programme and workplace inductions
  • Health & Safety
  • Foundation skills
  • Wheels tyres and braking systems
  • Stock control/management
  • Vehicle routine maintenance and inspection techniques
  • Cooling and lubrication systems
  • Steering and suspension systems
  • Basic electrical principles

End of Phase 1 assessment (this component
must be achieved to enable programme progression)

AUTOCARE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD LEVEL II

Year 2

Year 2 is comprised of 6 modules. Topics covered in year 2 include:

 

  • Heating and ventilation, including air conditioning systems (Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling)
  • Customer service and sales
  • Fuel, Intake and Exhaust Systems
  • Advanced Steering and Suspension Systems including 4-wheel alignment
  • Advanced Braking Systems (Level 2 Award in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Calibration)
  • Intermediate electrical systems and high voltage awareness

End of Phase 2 assessment (this component must be achieved to enable programme progression)

Level 2 Autocare End Point Assessment process, including online examinations, professional discussion and a range of workshop practical
assessments.

SERVICE & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD LEVEL III

Year 3 (Progression on the assumption that the 2-year Autocare programme has been successfully completed)
Year 3 of the apprenticeship journey is comprised of 5 modules. Topics covered in year include:
 
  • Advanced electrical systems, including can-bus/multiplexing and complex diagnostics
  • Advanced engine systems, including forced engine induction systems and associated complex diagnostics
  • Advanced transmissions including automatic transmissions
  • Alternative fuels, hybrid and electric propulsion systems
  • Diagnostic strategy and fault-finding techniques
  • End Point Assessment preparation via bespoke packages of webinar and training centre delivery
  • End of Phase evidence and Off The Job Training validation
  • Externally assessed End Point Assessment process, including online examinations, professional discussion and a range of workshop practical & diagnostic assessments
  • Electric Vehicle IMI Level II&III certification will be delivered and certificated at the end of this year.

Level II Customer Service Practitioner & Level III Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship Standards are both available for enrolment with the correct course for you being allocated at the point of enquiry.

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner

Course duration 12-15 Months

Topics covered include:

 

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
    Behave in accordance with the values of the company and the brand
  • Operate as an effective team member
  • Taking responsibility when required and be honest and accountable
  • Take personal ownership to improve own performance
  • Understand how the business works from an operational perspective and demonstrate commercial awareness
 

All training will be through on-line webinar delivery with the End Point assessment being carried at your place of work.

Level 3 Customer Service Specialist

Course duration 15-18 Months

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding the customer service industry
  • Personal presentation
  • Understanding customer needs 
  • Providing positive customer experience 
  • Team Working
  • Analysing customer service performance

All training will be through on-line webinar delivery with the End Point assessment being carried at your place of work.

Application Process

The application process to join us is as follows: 
  • All applicants will be required to complete an online application form and should apply directly for available vacancies within their area via the “Get My First Job” website (link below)
  • Candidates will undergo screening with the Recruitment Team before applications are shared with employers
  • Selection interviews will be conducted at the employer sites
  • Employers make offers of apprentice employment to their chosen candidate
  • Completion of all Apprenticeship sign up and contract paperwork (Employer and Candidate)
  • Webinar and training centre delivery commences
