the vehicle
There are no plans to develop further versions. This is the most powerful, high-performance model in the history of Renault, limited to 1980 units only.
R5 Turbo 3E includes the following R5 components: windscreen, side mirrors, taillights, air conditioning, dashboard and multimedia system (with specific user interface).
R5 Turbo 3E is available with pricing starting from £140,000*.
*Manufacturer's recommended retail price of the vehicle, excluding options and customisation, subject to change on the opening date of sales
Renault 5 Turbo 3E is sold in Europe, including the UK, as well as in the Middle East, Australia and Japan.
the brand
A unique project, the R5 Turbo 3E is a Renault vehicle because of the brand's history (same family as Renault R5 Turbo, dating from the 80s).
The R5 Turbo 3E will not have an Alpine label, as it is a Renault vehicle like its 1980 predecessor, the R5 Turbo.
No, the project has been decided, development has begun, and we progress just as we intended.

reservations
Of course, this is indicated at the top of your booking order, just below your contact details.
the thousand club
You're part of the R5 Turbo 3E Society. As a member, exclusive information and events await you throughout the waiting period.
Of course, you'll have the opportunity to meet at exclusive events.
We'll keep you updated via this channel. We will contact you in the coming weeks to activate it.

interior
The car will be fitted with its own sound system, currently under development.
They'll come as standard. 6-point harnesses will be fitted to driver and passenger seats.
doors and bodywork
We're working on the best possible integration of the door handles, and we'll tell you all about it very soon.
Yes, the body will be made entirely of carbon fibre (structure, wings, doors, roof, bonnet and boot).
wheels and tyres
We chose forged aluminum technology, which is already very efficient in terms of mass.
Michelin is one of the manufacturers we work with to offer the best tyres for this car.
prototype
The first prototype was presented to you for the first time on June 26. There will be various test phases throughout its development.
The prototype is 95% representative, and there will be a few evolutions and potential adjustments on the production vehicle, notably on the front and rear bumpers to optimise aerodynamics.
dimensions and weight
The weight will be less than 1450 kg. We're aiming for 1,400 kg.
Here are the dimensions of the R5 Turbo 3E: length 4.08 m, width 2.03 m, height 1.38 m.
R5 Turbo 3E's ground clearance is 118 mm.
power and motor
Efficient torque transfer to the ground is achieved by working on the tyres and weight distribution.
The torque of a wheel motor is not directly comparable to that of a conventional motor, since there is no reduction ratio between motor and wheel. That said, performance remains at a very high level, with a 0 to 60 miles/h time of less than 3.5 s.
The wheel-motor is certainly an innovation, but it's a realistic solution because we've corrected the increase in unsprung mass by designing the rear axle. What's more, the wheel-motor brings considerable advantages such as instant torque, agility and a lower centre of gravity, all of which enhance performance and driving pleasure.
R5 Turbo 3E accelerates from 0 to 60 miles in less than 3.5 seconds.
The car generates the same rear axle compression as a conventional motor.
No, because even if these unsprung masses are higher than with a conventional electric motor, we have taken them into account in the dimensioning of all related components (suspension wishbones, hub carriers, dampers, springs, etc.), as well as in the suspension kinematics.
This will be done by electronic management, which will be more efficient with the architecture of the motor in the wheel (faster exchanges between the wheel sensor and the electric motor).
other components
The steering system is traditional, with no wired transmission.
To date, this is not planned.

planning and processes
You'll be able to configure it in 2026.
That's right, it will be a fairly specific configurator. Find out more in our December live stream.
customisation
The colour presented during the live stream (inspired by the Tour de Corse) is one of the proposals that will be available as an option.
The interior customisation offer has not yet been finalised. We will get back to you with the final offer.
We are studying the possibility of offering an additional spoiler, taking into account homologation constraints.
There will be just one type of wheel, close to the design shown on the live stream.
For hyper-customisations, you can make an appointment with our designers. Of course, they'll be with you every step of the way.
Vehicle customisation can be carried out in a design studio at the Technocentre (near Paris) or in central Paris. We are looking into a remote solution for customers who are unable to travel.

events
The next live streams will be in October and December 2025. Further sessions will be organised in 2026.
Upcoming events include live streams in October and December 2025. In addition to the live streams, other exclusive events will be on offer. We'll be sure to keep you informed as to what happens next.
During the waiting period, we're planning events for the motorsports enthusiast in you. We've got some exclusive experiences in store for you, and we'll let you know more soon.
delivery and test drive
The first deliveries are scheduled for 2027.
Several options are available for the delivery of your R5 Turbo 3E. At an exclusive address or at your retailer, we will give you more information soon.
And, of course, test drives will be organised so that you can discover the R5 Turbo 3E. We'll give you more information shortly.

electric
Yes, with the bi-directional AC charger, Renault 5 Turbo 3E will be V2G compatible. But service availability depends on the country.
Yes, your retailer will be able to advise you on the installation of a plug or charging point.
A dedicated charging station or a wallbox up to 11 kW will be ideal, as this is the car's maximum AC charging power. You can even use a standard or reinforced 220 V socket (but the charging time will of course be longer).

The battery warranty will be the same as on the R5 E-Tech, 8 years/100,000 miles.
We're working on it to meet our expectations for this type of car.
Motor endurance is bench tested, as well as on a prototype vehicle, to the usual standards and benefits from the same warranty as other motors.
1 Renault is currently working on the development of the vehicle. Some elements of this FAQ may change as the development progresses. This FAQ will be updated as the project progresses.
