full hybrid E-Tech technology, less consumption
Our full hybrid E-Tech and hyper hybrid powertrains help to reduce fuel consumption through smart electronic management of the different motors.
The electric and combustion components operate independently or together, as needed, to reduce fuel consumption.

full hybrid E-Tech consumption
Full hybrid E-Tech vehicles have been designed to optimise your journeys and help make your everyday life easier.
- fuel savings
- managing consumption
- electric driving
fuel savings
The main difference with combustion-powered vehicles is in the fuel savings. They can be up to 25% on so-called “mixed” journeys (in the countryside on clear roads) and these savings can reach up to 40% in town.*
managing consumption
Switching between the different traction modes (electric, hybrid and combustion) helps full hybrid vehicles to consume less fuel than the equivalent combustion engine models.
Consumption is improved by automatically switching from one mode to another and using regenerative braking. The car’s energy management system permanently and autonomously controls consumption.
electric driving
In electric and hyper hybrid plug-in vehicles, we talk about time spent in electric driving mode, rather than driving range.
In a full hybrid E-Tech vehicle, the battery recharges itself depending on how much you brake and slow down, meaning that full driving time cannot be pre-calculated.
hyper hybrid E-Tech consumption
Hyper hybrid cars have the same powertrain design as full hybrid vehicles: 2 electric motors and a combustion-powered engine. For hyper hybrid vehicles, the motors are combined with a higher capacity rechargeable battery that can be recharged from the mains. This combination helps reduces your everyday fuel consumption.

- charging mode
ecology and consumption
A hyper hybrid E-Tech vehicle can reduce emissions if you drive in 100% electric mode. If you do not plug in your vehicle, it will operate like a full hybrid, but with greater fuel consumption due to the weight of the battery.
electric driving range
Renault hyper hybrid E-Tech vehicles have a driving range of up to 65 miles*.
charging mode
Hyper hybrid E-Tech vehicles charge as you drive (through regenerative braking) and at a charging point.
When the battery is depleted, they operate like a full hybrid vehicle, with the generated kinetic energy helping you to recover the battery’s capacity.
electric driving and consumption solutions

the E-Nav and hybrid driving functions
E-Tech technology is associated with the hybrid driving function** that helps optimise the battery charge according to your destination.
Depending on where you are, the car determines exactly when it will pass through a city or encounter a specific topography and knows when to use combustion, hybrid or 100% electric driving. This improves your fuel consumption and driving range, as well as your vehicle’s performance.

E-Save mode
With E-Save mode, you choose to keep at least 40% of the electric driving range of your vehicle to be used at the best time.

passenger compartment preheating (hyper hybrid plug-in vehicle)
Like an electric vehicle, you can preheat the passenger compartment in winter and start the air conditioning in summer, using the My Renault app,*** whilst recharging your vehicle. Start the day with maximum driving range and a vehicle that is ready to go.
