What are the home charging solutions?
How to choose your charging solution?
depending on your driving habits
Your ideal home charging solution should be determined based on 3 factors: your daily mileage, your vehicle use (city, motorway, etc.) and your need for frequent fast charging. On the Renault website and in the relevant vehicle brochures, you will find a simulator to help you estimate your charging times based on the type of charging solution, helping you plan according to your needs. Stop by our dealership, where your Renault sales advisor will advise you based on your needs and preferences.
based on the setup of your electric installation
Your home may be powered by either single-phase or three-phase electricity. This differentiation is essential when selecting a compatible charging station to maximise available power. To find out, check the symbol on the front of your Linky meter in your home. Additionally, your electricity subscription’s power rating is an indicator; if it exceeds 12 kVA, your installation is automatically three-phase.
We recommend having an electric meter power rating higher than that of the charging station. For instance, a power rating of 9 kVA is required for a charging station with a power output of 7.4 kW.
Do I need to increase or change my contracted power capacity to install my charging station?
When installing your charging solution, our teams will need to check the electrical capacity of your home.
For optimal performance, the recommended capacity of your electricity plan should be:
- At least 6 kVA, for a 3.7 kW reinforced socket
- At least 9 kVA, for a charging station configured for 7.4 kW with single-phase power
- At least 15 kVA, for a charging station configured for 11 kW with three-phase power
- At least 24 kVA, for a charging station configured for 22 kW with three-phase power
