How do you charge an electric vehicle while on the go?

Here's what you need to know about charging an electric vehicle while on the road:

Technical compatibility

Your vehicle must be compatible with the charging station's plug type and power rating (AC or DC). Renault's E-Tech electric vehicles use a Type 2 connector for AC charging and a Combo Type 2 (CCS) connector for DC fast charging.

Access and payment

Not all terminals are freely accessible: some require a badge or a specific app. With the charge pass charge card, you have access to one of Europe’s largest networks, but there are also charging stations outside the network.

How can I tell if a charging station is compatible?

Use the built-in planner or the MyRenault ¹ app to:

  • Filter by plug type and power rating.
  • Check availability and rates.

¹ To use My Renault app you need a smartphone with compatible iOS or Android operating system.  Download the free My Renault app and create an account.  Synchronise or pair My Renault to your vehicle.  Synchronising or pairing should only be done when the car is parked safely.  Services may be subject to mobile network coverage and additional charges.  Users should follow road safety regulations when using the services and always be in control of the vehicle.
