The one-pedal function is available depending on the model and production year of your electric vehicle:

• Renault 4 E-Tech electric starting from the techno+ version
• Megane E-Tech electric available depending on model year
• Scenic E-Tech electric available depending on model year

The one-pedal function is particularly effective in town and in traffic jams, where it reduces the need to alternate between the accelerator and the brake, offering a smoother, less tiring ride. It's also ideal for downhill driving, as it allows you to better manage your speed with gradual deceleration. On roads and motorways, the function can be used, but needs to be adapted for harder braking, particularly to ensure optimum control at higher speeds.

The one-pedal function is an additional driver-assistance system that does not replace driver vigilance. The driver must always remain in control of the vehicle, especially when emergency braking is required.

​To manage your driving with the one-pedal function:

• anticipate slowdowns by adjusting throttle pressure
• adapt your driving to the type of road and traffic conditions
• keep in mind that the brake pedal remains available when needed (for harder or emergency braking)

Good to know: when reversing, the one-pedal function goes into standby mode and its indicator light turns grey. The function reactivates automatically in position D (drive) as soon as you exceed a certain speed threshold, and the icon turns blue to confirm its activation.

On low-grip surfaces (frost, snow, etc.), we recommend using only the first levels of regenerative braking. On steep inclines, if the accelerator pedal is completely released, the one-pedal function may not be sufficient to keep the vehicle stationary. In this case, we recommend using the brake pedal, the electronic parking brake or the handbrake, depending on your model.

You can disable the one-pedal function:

• ​while driving: press the paddle on the left-hand steering wheel to reduce the regenerative braking level and deactivate the function.
• from a standstill: press the brake pedal, then the paddle on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, to reduce the regenerative braking level and deactivate the function.

​The message "one-pedal deactivated" will appear on the instrument panel, confirming that the function has been deactivated.​

Good to know: the function deactivates automatically when the engine is switched off.

The one-pedal function must be reactivated each time the vehicle is restarted, at the driver's discretion. If it was active at standstill, the vehicle will automatically restart with a lower level of regenerative braking. As a reminder, one-pedal corresponds to the maximum regenerative braking level, allowing you to come to a complete stop.

Although the one pedal function allows you to decelerate to a complete stop, it does not replace the brake pedal and does not perform an emergency stop.

The brake pedal remains indispensable for emergency stops and harder braking.

If necessary, use the brake pedal for emergency braking. The one-pedal function does not replace the traditional braking system in these situations.
