Contractual relationship
These General Terms and Conditions of Use ( “T&Cs”) govern the customer’s (“You”, “you”, “Your”, “your”) access and use of the mobile software application which includes Content, software, programs, tools (programming, navigation, etc.), databases, operating systems, documentation and all other elements and services that compose it, including updates and new versions that can be made to the application by RENAULT ("Application" or “wt5 by reno app” or “wt5 by reno”).
The wt5 by reno app is edited and provided by RENAULT UK Limited incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 00082932 whose registered office is at The Rivers Office Park, Denham Way Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, WD3 9YS ("RENAULT", “Our”, “our”). The wt5 by reno app provides access to various features and services as determined by RENAULT from time to time (the “Services”). For the purpose of these T&Cs “Content” shall mean without limitation, the structure of the Application, editorial content, articles, drawings, illustrations, images, photographs, graphic charters, trademarks, logos, acronyms, company names, audiovisual works, multimedia works, visual content, audio and sound content microphone integrated to the smartphone, as well as any other content present within the Application.
RENAULT reserves the right to amend and/or update these T&Cs at any time and without prior notice to you.
The applicable T&Cs are those in effect at the date of your connection and use of wt5 by reno app.
Please read these T&Cs carefully. By downloading and accessing the Application you will be deemed to have accepted these T&Cs.
- wt5 by reno enables you to discover a selection of news and information about RENAULT as well as a selection of RENAULT products and services.
- The Services accessible on the Application shall be as follows:
- Create a user account;
- Information about how to navigate the Application;
- Information about Renault brand vehicles (“Vehicle(s)”) including but not limited to technical specifications of Vehicles, tutorial videos, themes, etc.
- Information about RENAULT's activities;
- Articles and/or videos about RENAULT and our Vehicles. Articles and or videos may include content from third-party applications or websites, published and edited by third parties. You may be redirected to third party applications or websites in order to view this content (third party terms and conditions may apply) participation in multiple-choice questionnaires (the results remain private and are not shared);
- Ability to discover a selection of RENAULT products and/or services via a redirection to other applications or websites published and edited by RENAULT or by third-parties (third party terms and conditions may apply);
- Access to frequently asked questions (FAQs) section.
- This list of Services is not exhaustive and may be modified at any time by RENAULT without notice or any liability.
- The Application is accessible on a compatible smartphone , and tablet with limited display resolution equipped with Apple iOS or Android technology (running iOS 14 to 17 or Android 8 to 14).
- Reno can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
- You will be able to access the general information offered by the Application. To activate a function requiring personalisation (such as the Reno section, selection in favourites or suggested access to content depending on navigation), you will need to sign up to the MyRenault app and create a personal account.
- Once the account has been created, you will be required to validate your registration by email.
- You can access the Services by logging in, using your e-mail address and password (which are strictly personal and confidential to you).
- You undertake to keep your e-mail and password confidential and to not disclose them to any person whatsoever. Any breach of this requirement may result in your access to the wt5 by reno app being revoked. Any disclosure to a third party is your sole responsibility.
- If the account is inactive for a period of three (3) years, your account is closed.
- RENAULT grants you a personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable, license and free right to use the Application, Content and Services solely for your own purposes in connection with the use of the Application and Services, to the exclusion of any other purpose.
- You are strictly prohibited from accessing, decompiling, copying, adapting, digitising, reproducing, distributing, circulating, sub-licensing, selling, renting, modifying, publishing, assigning or create derivative works of the Application and/or using the software components of the Application.
- You do not acquire any rights in the Application, Content and/or Services other than those granted herein.
- You undertake to:
- download and use the Application on your device exclusively for personal and non-commercial use;
- inform RENAULT if you are aware of an act of piracy and/or an illegal or non-contractual use of the Application and/or its Content;
- not reproduce, even temporarily and/or partially, the Application and/or the Content, by any means and in any form;
- not use any software or processes designed to copy the Content;
- not adapt, modify, translate, transcribe, compile, decompile, assemble, disassemble all or part of the Application, Services and/or Content;
- not export the Application and/or merge it with other computer programs;
- not create derivative works;
- not remove any element of identification of copyrights, trademarks or any other indication of reserved rights;
- not use the Application contrary to morality and public order (such as, but not limited to, any content of a racial, pornographic or sexual nature).
- RENAULT shall use reasonable endeavours to provide you with continued access, consultation and use of the Application. Due to technical reasons RENAULT cannot guarantee continuous and undisturbed use of the Application.
- RENAULT reserves the right to change, terminate or to no longer offer the Application and/ or its Services at any time without prior notice.
- The Application may be subject to interruption, suspension, modification or termination from time to time due to or arising in connection with:
- Force Majeure Events;
- problems in utilities, telecommunications or internet services;
- acts or omissions of any third party; the acts or omissions of you or any other user, failing to comply with the conditions of these T&Cs;
- routine or emergency maintenance;
- bugs, viruses, piracy, malware, intrusions; and
- requests from authorised public authorities.
- For the purposes of this section 6 of the T&Cs, “Force Majure Event(s)” shall mean any circumstances beyond a RENAULT's reasonable control including, without limitation, acts of God, governmental actions, war or national emergency, riot, civil commotion, fire, explosion, flood, epidemic, lock-outs, strikes or other labour disputes, or restraints or delays affecting carriers or service providers or inability or delay in obtaining supplies of adequate or suitable materials.
- RENAULT shall not be liable for any restriction to the R Pass and it’s Associated Services in the event of the circumstances listed in sections 6.3 and 7.4 of these T&Cs
- Nothing in these T&Cs excludes RENAULT’s liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by RENAULT’s negligence; or
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- To the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations, RENAULT hereby disclaims all liability for the use of the Application and/ or its Services by you and makes no warranties , whether express or implied, regarding:
- accessibility, speed, performance or quality of the Application and/or its Services
- any use by you of the data and/or information accessible via the Application and/or its Services; or
- compatibility of the Application and/or its Services for a particular use.
- Access to and use of the Application is at your own risk. You are responsible for taking all appropriate measures to protect your own data and/or software stored on your device, or any other equipment used to access the Applications, against any breach.
- In any event, RENAULT will not be liable:
- in the event of your non-compliance by the User with these T&Cs;
- in the event the Application or its Services experiences a malfunction caused by you, a third party or due to a malicious act, whether deliberate or unintentional or resulting from issues or a malfunction of a software, smartphone/tablet, interface or any other product or supplier used by you;
- in the event of a malfunction and/or failure of your internet, whatever the cause;
- in case of any direct or indirect damage arising from your use of the Application, in particular whilst driving;
- in case of legislative or regulatory changes affecting the Application and/or its Services;
- if you share comments or your opinion of wt5 by reno in the Application or on a download store (e.g. Google Play Store or Apple App Store), which would be contrary to public order or morality, or in violation of any of the above restrictions; or
- in the event of your failure to adhere with the terms of use of any third-party provider utilized by RENAULT to provide the Application and/or its Services or your non-performance or partial performance of obligations set out by such third-parties.
- RENAULT cannot be held responsible for the content (in particular texts, videos, images, photographs, etc.) and/or products and/or services offered by applications and/or websites published and edited by third parties, which are the sole responsibility of said third party.
- When using the Application, your personal data is processed by RENAULT for the purpose of providing the services set out in section 1.2 of these T&C, in accordance with RENAULT's personal data protection policy, accessible here.
- In addition, wt5 by reno includes a feature allowing the User to interact vocally with the avatar, via the microphone installed on the smartphone and/or tablet on which the app is downloaded.
- Within the reno section of wt5 by reno, when you first download wt5 by reno, Reno will ask you whether you authorise the activation of the voice recognition feature. This feature is automatically deactivated when you leave the reno section, the Application or you turn off your smartphone or tablet. In addition, it can be deactivated at any time by you, by clicking on the microphone function in the reno section, or directly in the menu of your smartphone (Settings – Privacy (under IOS) / Settings – Applications (under Android)).
- Renault UK does not carry out the voice recognition processing necessary to interpret your commands to Reno. Renault SAS use the software already integrated in your device (whether iOs or Android) operated by the software provider, for the sole purpose of interpreting your commands and responding to them in the Application. Your applicable software provider (e.g. Apple for iOS and Android for Samsung, Google etc.) is responsible for the processing of any voice processing you submit to Reno. You will be subject to the terms and conditions governing such processing of your software provider.

- The Application, the Content and the Vehicles are protected by intellectual property rights and are the property of RENAULT or third parties authorised by RENAULT to use them.
- Any reproduction, representation, use or modification, by any means whatsoever and on any medium whatsoever, of all or part of the Application and/or the Content and/or the Vehicles without having obtained the prior authorization of RENAULT, is strictly prohibited and constitutes an infringement offence.
- RENAULT, the names of the vehicle models offered by RENAULT, slogans and logos are, unless otherwise indicated, trademarks registered by RENAULT or third parties authorised by RENAULT to use them.
- The reproduction, imitation, use or affixing of these trademarks without the prior authorisation of RENAULT or their respective owners constitutes an infringement offence.
- You may not copy, modify, reproduce, disseminate in whole or in part, in any form whatsoever, the information and elements appearing on the Services, nor intervene on the Services, nor act in a manner that infringes the intellectual property rights of RENAULT and third parties who have been authorised by RENAULT to use them.
- You acquire no property rights of any kind whatsoever on know-how, corporate names, commercial names, trademarks, copyrights, logos, patents and any other intellectual property rights related to RENAULT.
- RENAULT reserves the right to modify and update these T&Cs without notice, at any time and without prior notice to Users.
- These Terms and Conditions and any dispute shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- If any dispute arises in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the parties may enter into mediation in good faith to settle such dispute.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall prejudice the right of either party to apply to the courts of England and Wales in respect of any matters arising out of these Terms and Conditions.
- Any failure to exercise, or delay in exercising, a right, power or remedy provided by these T&Cs or by law shall not constitute a waiver of that, or any other, right, power or remedy and shall not, and nor shall any single or partial exercise of any such right, power or remedy, preclude the further exercise of that, or any other, right, power or remedy.
- If any provision, or part of a provision, of these T&Cs is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, such invalidity, illegality or unenforceability shall not affect the other provisions of these T&Cs, which shall remain in full force and effect.
